Glidear J
J Foot Surg. 1977 Winter;16(4):146-8.
Dr. Glidear discusses bone transplantation and the incorporation of transplanted bone into the host. The graft itself plays a role in its incorporation into the host by either attracting invading vessels from the bed or by forming anastomoses between itself and the host vascular channels. Vessels can invade a bony graft only when shear is eliminated or greatly minimized. The most frequent cause of transplantation failure is infection.
