Restorative dentistry, especially esthetic techniques, demands the dentist be artist and scientist. Artistic elements such as shape of form, symmetry and proportionality, position and alignment, surface texture, and color must be considered. Conservative esthetic dentistry provides a new dimension to treatment that is rewarding and gives the dentist another means of artistic expression.
