Abstract

Pituitary stalk interruption syndrome (PSIS) is a rare disease with isolated growth hormone deficiency or multiple anterior pituitary hormone deficiencies; and is characterised by a thin or absent pituitary stalk, hypoplasia of the adenohypophysis, and ectopic neurohypophysis. The literature have reported primarily on cases of infants and young people, and there are few reports in adults. A case is presented here of a 54-year male, who reported dizziness accompanied by fatigue and anorexia for more than 20 days; and the results from the blood tests showed a general decline in growth hormone, thyrotropin, and sex hormone levels. On the basis of the medical history, laboratory and imaging examination, a diagnosis of PSIS was made. After treatment, the patient's condition as well as laboratory results returned to normal. In summary, PSIS can also occur in adults. In the suspected cases, magnetic resonance imaging should be done in time to diagnose and manage it appropriately early in the course of the disease. 摘要

垂体柄中断综合征(PSIS)是一种罕见的疾病,表现为孤立性生长激素缺乏或多种垂体前叶激素缺乏;其特征为垂体柄变薄或缺失、腺垂体发育不良和异位神经垂体。文献主要报道了婴儿和年轻人的病例,成人病例较少。本文报道了 1 例 54 岁男性患者,因头晕伴乏力、纳差 20 余天就诊;血液检查结果显示生长激素、促甲状腺激素和性激素水平普遍下降。根据病史、实验室和影像学检查,诊断为 PSIS。经治疗后,患者病情及实验室结果均恢复正常。总之,PSIS 也可发生于成年人。在疑似病例中,应及时行磁共振成像检查,以便在疾病早期作出诊断并进行适当的治疗。关键词:垂体柄中断综合征;垂体激素缺乏;成年人。
