Pharmacotherapy of sudden cardiac death due to acute myocardial ischaemia. Experimental and clinical experience.

A critical review of experimental studies aiming to determine the effect of drugs in the prevention of sudden cardiac death. They include antiischaemic drugs, the drugs influencing transmembrane ion transport, those altering the phospholipid structure of the myocardial membrane as well as the medicaments improving blood rheology, preventing thrombosis, cytoprotective drugs and thrombolytic therapy.
