Maxillary alveolar cleft grafting is an established form of surgical treatment used to improve the form and function of the facial skeleton for patients with cleft deformities. A major goal of this surgery is to provide sufficient bone to support the development and eruption of permanent dentition adjacent to the cleft. Various grafting techniques and materials are used to achieve favorable outcomes. This article is a review of some of the techniques commonly used to treat maxillary clefts.
