[Aspects of orthodontic-prosthetic planning in adults].

The introduction of firm fitting orthodontic appliances has increased considerably the treatment potential of adults. Many aesthetic and functional problems allow a more satisfactory solution through preparatory orthodontic treatment than was possible up to now by prosthetic means. Surgical measures can facilitate and complement this therapy. In addition dental orthopaedic measures must be stabilised by prosthesis for reasons of retention.
