Abstract

Since 1979 much attention has been payed in the literature to the presence and importance of estrogen- and progesterone-receptors in meningiomas. The existence of these receptors seems to be proven, but the question about their biological activity is not solved conclusively. If the hypothesis of a biological activity of the estrogen- and progesterone-receptors in meningiomas is confirmed, some patients could benefit from a hormonal therapy.

自1979年以来，文献中已对雌激素受体和孕激素受体在脑膜瘤中的存在及重要性给予了诸多关注。这些受体的存在似乎已得到证实，但关于其生物学活性的问题尚未得到最终解决。如果雌激素受体和孕激素受体在脑膜瘤中具有生物学活性这一假说得到证实，一些患者可能会从激素治疗中获益。
