[The incidence of Dirofilaria immitis in dogs of Havana City].

The significance of the knowledge of the incidence of Dirofilaria immitis in the dog is emphasized since dirofilariasis is a zoonosis which produce subcutaneous tumors which clinical-etiological diagnosis is very difficult. Adult forms are often located in the skin. The percentage of parasitized dogs found in the Havana city is reported. One-hundred-and-two necropsies of gadder dogs depicted that 6,86% of them had Dirofilaria immitis. Results were negative in the remaining 93,13%.
