Avulsion of tibialis anticus and peronei muscles resulting in acute anterior and lateral compartment syndrome.

We present a case of compartment syndrome caused by an avulsion of the anterior tibial and peroneal muscles from their point of origin. At operation, the avulsed muscles were restored to their bed, and 1 week later a split-thickness skin graft was applied after further debridement. At 2-year followup the patient showed a slight limp.
