[Interpretation of blood culture results (author's transl)].

The most important problem of blood culture results interpretation is represented by contaminations. The Author reviews the different criteria differentiating contamination from bacteremia. Particularly he discusses the importance of type of organism isolated; of number of blood cultures taken from each patient; of pour-plate culture results; of antibodies production towards the organism isolated.
