Abstract
Two groups of peripheral cold receptors are distinguished: the superficial (subepidermal) receptors stimulate behavioral responses of thermoregulation whereas the vegetative responses of thermoregulation are induced by the activity of cold receptors located in more profound layers of the body coat--in cutaneous and subcutaneous vessels, especially in subcutaneous veins, if the temperature of the venous blood is lowering.
