14 patients with primary, secondary or concurrent in situ carcinoma of the urinary bladder were treated intravesically with a solution of Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG). Complete tumour remission was achieved in 9 patients. Local toxicity forced discontinuation of treatment in 3 patients. Tumour progression was not observed during treatment in any patient. Although there are still several unsolved questions concerning intravesical BCG treatment, it may already be considered to play an important role in organ-preserving bladder cancer therapy.
14例原发性、继发性或并发膀胱原位癌患者接受了卡介苗（BCG）溶液膀胱内灌注治疗。9例患者实现了肿瘤完全缓解。3例患者因局部毒性而被迫停止治疗。治疗期间未观察到任何患者出现肿瘤进展。尽管关于膀胱内卡介苗治疗仍有几个未解决的问题，但它可能已被认为在保留器官的膀胱癌治疗中发挥重要作用。
