Elderly people are vulnerable to a variety of nutritional, medical, and socioeconomic stringencies. The additional imposition of a restrictive diet for those with hypercholesterolemia is a matter to be decided on the merits of individual cases; however, such diet therapy generally is both problematic and unproductive.
