In acute experiments on 3-30-day kittens, recording the evoked potentials, studies have been made on the development and maturation of sensorimotor parietal associative and transcallosal responses (TCR). At early ontogenetic stages, these TCR are presented by single negative oscillation, strictly localized, with a large latent period and long duration. During postnatal life, the duration of the latent period decreases, whereas the area of the evoked potentials increases. Investigation of the electrical responses in focus of maximum activity in sensorimotor and parietal associative regions in kittens of all age groups revealed earlier activation of the projectional areas and later maturation of the associative inputs.
