Previous characterization of the double-well EΣ6S - Rydberg state outer potential well EΣ in CdAr van der Waals (vdW) complex has been based on detection of the EΣ←BΣ5P (υ″=0-2) transitions only. In this study, the gap in the limited characterization of the EΣ shallow well and the neighbouring potential barrier has been filled by recording bound (υ') ← bound (υ″=1-4) and free ← bound (υ″=0-4) excitation spectra. The result, spectroscopic description of the EΣ well along with the potential barrier have been concluded from simulations of the recorded spectra. The results were compared with those published previously.
