Single component organic ferroelectrics of spirooxazacamphorsultam derivatives, 1- and 1-, exhibit well-defined ferroelectricity ( = 2.2 μC cm) and piezoelectricity ( = 10 pC N) below their melting point. More importantly, they possess a low acoustic impedance value of 2.7 × 10 kg s m, which is well-matched with body tissues.
