A case of inflammatory bowel disease with toxic megacolon decompressed by colonoscopy, placement of an indwelling colonic tube through which steroid solution was administered. Toxic megacolon was alleviated, thus suspending the impending surgery. Literature search did not reveal any similar approaches of treating toxic megacolon. This procedure, however, should not replace the proper surgical management of toxic megacolon of inflammatory bowel disease.
1例炎症性肠病合并中毒性巨结肠患者，通过结肠镜检查进行减压，并放置一根留置结肠管，经此管注入类固醇溶液。中毒性巨结肠得以缓解，从而避免了即将进行的手术。文献检索未发现任何治疗中毒性巨结肠的类似方法。然而，该操作不应取代对炎症性肠病中毒性巨结肠的适当手术治疗。
