This study aimed to examine factors affecting suicidal ideation among female late adolescents from a Korean rural province.
A descriptive cross-sectional design involving self-reported questionnaires was used. The data were collected from female adolescents aged 18 to 22 years, from high schools, universities, churches, and local community centers. The sample consisted of 197 female late adolescents from three rural areas in Korea. The Center for Epidemiological Studies-Depression Scale and the Suicidal Ideation Scale were used to measure depression and suicidal ideation, respectively.
Suicidal ideation was correlated with having a specific suicide plan (r=.65, <.001), depression (r=.39, <.001), subjective well-being (r=-.46, <.001), ever experienced violence (r=.15, =.029), and age (r=-.21, =.003). Factors affecting suicidal ideation among rural female adolescents were having a specific suicide plan (β=.56, <.001), subjective well-being (β=-.23, =.001), and suicide of a close person (β=.12, =.035). These factors explained 48.0% of the variance in suicidal ideation (F=37.62, <.001).
This study demonstrated that affective factors and personal experiences regarding suicide were critical indicators for suicidal ideation among female late adolescents. These factors should be managed and tailored nursing should be offered to prevent suicide and enhance the psychiatric health of female late adolescents.
本研究旨在探讨韩国农村省份女性青少年晚期自杀意念的影响因素。
采用描述性横断面设计，涉及自我报告问卷。数据收集自18至22岁的女性青少年，来自高中、大学、教堂和当地社区中心。样本包括来自韩国三个农村地区的197名女性青少年晚期。分别使用流行病学研究中心抑郁量表和自杀意念量表来测量抑郁和自杀意念。
自杀意念与有特定自杀计划（r = 0.65，p < 0.001）、抑郁（r = 0.39，p < 0.001）、主观幸福感（r = -0.46，p < 0.001）、曾经历暴力（r = 0.15，p = 0.029）和年龄（r = -0.21，p = 0.003）相关。农村女性青少年自杀意念的影响因素包括有特定自杀计划（β = 0.56，p < 0.001）、主观幸福感（β = -0.23，p = 0.001）和亲近的人自杀（β = 0.12，p = 0.035）。这些因素解释了自杀意念变异的48.0%（F = 37.62，p < 0.001）。
本研究表明，情感因素和与自杀相关的个人经历是女性青少年晚期自杀意念的关键指标。应管理这些因素并提供针对性护理，以预防自杀并改善女性青少年晚期的心理健康。
