[Acute bacterial meningitis in adults--a therapeutic problem].

Even with reference to the available modern chemotherapeutics the acute bacterial meningitis represents a therapeutic problem. References to indication and dosage of several chemotherapeutics are given on the basis of recent knowledge of liquor metabolism as well as clinical and experimental findings. The used doses in medical practice are mostly situated below the necessary doses and could be the cause for a non-sufficient reaction among other things.
