Nursing and the voluntary association. Origin, development and collaboration.

This article identifies the mutual help group as a mechanism to enhance support services in the community. This type of voluntary association should be used as referral sources for patients and family members. It is through promoting the collaborative efforts of professionals patients, family, and friends that the nurse can contribute to the mental health needs of the community.
