Abstract

• LV IMD is a rare complication of blunt chest trauma. • Associated papillary muscle avulsion led to severe MR. • Transthoracic echocardiography provides a rapid diagnosis of this rare entity. • Image sweeps of MV with TTE can help to fully visualize partial papillary ruptures.
