Reconstruction of a digitless hand.

A digitless left hand was reconstructed by transplanting a big toe skin-nail flap and the adjacent second and third toes taken from the left foot and the second and third toes taken from the right foot. Five months follow-up showed satisfactory functional recovery and cosmetic results. The digits have regained normal sensibility and possess independent motor ability.
