The aim of this study was to study the functional and radiological outcome after surgical fixation of complex intra-articular tibial plateau fractures managed by three-column concept.
Ten patients with complex intra-articular tibial plateau fractures were included in this study. They were classified according to the three-column concept based on X-ray and computed tomography. All of them underwent osteosynthesis after meticulous planning and the columns were addressed using combined approaches.
We obtained good to excellent radiological and functional outcomes with the column-based fixation of the intra-articular tibial plateau fractures. About 90% of the patients were able to return to pre-injury level of activity without complications.
The posterior column is a vital component of the tibial plateau and needs to be separately addressed. Three-column concept is a beneficial adjunct, especially in complex and biplanar intra-articular tibial plateau fractures, both as a diagnostic and a pre-operative planning tool.
本研究旨在探讨采用三柱概念手术固定复杂关节内胫骨平台骨折后的功能及影像学结果。
本研究纳入10例复杂关节内胫骨平台骨折患者。根据基于X线和计算机断层扫描的三柱概念对其进行分类。所有患者均在精心规划后接受了骨固定术,并采用联合入路处理各柱。
通过基于柱的关节内胫骨平台骨折固定术,我们获得了良好至优秀的影像学和功能结果。约90%的患者能够恢复到受伤前的活动水平且无并发症。
后柱是胫骨平台的重要组成部分,需要单独处理。三柱概念是一种有益的辅助手段,特别是在复杂和双平面关节内胫骨平台骨折中,作为诊断和术前规划工具均有帮助。
