The concept of and motivation for endoscopic examination of the nose in conjunction with computed tomography of the paranasal sinuses in cases of persistent or chronic recurring sinusitis is discussed. A review of the first 50 cases operated on by the author is given comparing pre- and postoperative symptomatology as well as the most common complications observed.
