This in vitro study was conducted to compare the discoloration of a flowable self-adhesive composite, a highly filled composite adhesive, and a liquid polish applied highly filled composite adhesive for bonded lingual retainers.
Thirty composite discs were fabricated and divided into three groups: group 1, flowable self-adhesive (GC Ortho Connect™ Flow [GCO], GC Orthodontics, Tokyo, Japan); group 2, highly filled composite adhesive (Transbond™ LR [TLR], 3M Unitek, Monrovia, CA, USA); and group 3, highly filled composite adhesive with liquid polish (TLR and BisCover LV™ [TLRB], BISCO Inc, Schaumburg, IL, USA). Lab* values were measured by spectrophotometer prior to (T0) and following (T1) immersion in coffee. T1 - T0 differences were calculated as ∆L*, ∆a*, ∆b*, and ∆E*ab values. The Shapiro-Wilk test was performed to determine whether the data were normally distributed. The values that did not fit the normal distribution were evaluated with the Kruskal-Wallis one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), and Dunn's test was used for multiple comparisons. The level of significance was p < 0.05.
The difference between the TLR and TLRB groups was statistically significant for ∆Eab (P = 0.007). ∆Eab value of TLR group was greater than ∆Eab value of TLRB group. The differences between the GCO and TLR groups (p = 0.001) and the TLR and TLRB groups (p = 0.010) were statistically significant for ∆a. ∆a* values of GCO and TLRB groups were greater than ∆a* value of TLR group. The difference between the TLR and TLRB groups was statistically significant (p = 0.003) for ∆b*. ∆b* value of TLR group was greater than ∆b* value of TLRB group.
Using a Transbond LR polished with BisCover LV or only GC Ortho Connect Flow for lingual retainer bonding reduces coffee-induced discoloration.
本体外研究旨在比较一种流动自粘复合树脂、一种高填充复合树脂胶粘剂和一种应用于高填充复合树脂胶粘剂的液体抛光剂在粘结舌侧保持器时的变色情况。
制备 30 个复合圆盘,并分为三组:组 1,流动自粘(GC Ortho Connect™ Flow [GCO],GC 正畸,东京,日本);组 2,高填充复合树脂胶粘剂(Transbond™ LR [TLR],3M Unitek,Monrovia,CA,USA);组 3,高填充复合树脂胶粘剂加液体抛光剂(TLR 和 BisCover LV™ [TLRB],BISCO Inc,Schaumburg,IL,USA)。用分光光度计在浸泡咖啡之前(T0)和之后(T1)测量 Lab值。计算 T1-T0 差值作为 ∆L、∆a*、∆b和 ∆Eab 值。采用 Shapiro-Wilk 检验确定数据是否呈正态分布。不符合正态分布的数据采用 Kruskal-Wallis 单向方差分析(ANOVA)进行评估,并用 Dunn 检验进行多重比较。显著性水平为 p<0.05。
