At the request of the Editor, we reviewed all the original articles published in AJDC in the years 1983 and 1984. Each article was classified in regard to research structure and subject matter, and each was examined for irregularities in description of methods, analysis, or interpretation of results. The survey provides an overview of the kinds of original articles published during 1983 and 1984. It also suggests that authors and editors must handle with extreme care the presentation of research descriptions, methods of analysis, and interpretation of results.
