Abstract

The duration of sleep induced by administration of nembutal in hyperbaric helium-oxygen, nitrogen-oxygen and helium-nitrogen-oxygen mixtures was studied on Wistar rats. Helium reduced the duration of nembutal narcosis. On the contrary, nitrogen increased its duration under high pressure. The most rapid decrease of narcosis was observed with the use of helium-nitrogen-oxygen mixture under the pressure of 40 at. The results of the study are in a good agreement with the theory of the antagonistic effects of helium and nitrogen under high pressure on the central nervous system.

在高压氦氧、氮氧和氦氮氧混合气体环境下,研究了戊巴比妥对Wistar大鼠睡眠时长的影响。氦气缩短了戊巴比妥麻醉的时长。相反,在高压环境下氮气延长了其时长。在40个大气压的氦氮氧混合气体环境下,麻醉时长下降最为迅速。该研究结果与高压下氦气和氮气对中枢神经系统产生拮抗作用的理论高度吻合。
