In 67% of tests, a decrease in the output from the cat left heart ventricle entailed a lessening of the lung artery blood flow, the latter being combined with an increased inflow to the right atrium in half of the cases. Suppression of beta-adrenoreceptors exerted no effect on the output from the right ventricle. Different factors are discussed affecting the lung artery blood flow and efficiency of the right ventricle in formation of shifts in the output from the left ventricle under occlusion of carotid arteries.
