Intraspinal synovial cysts are an unusual cause of lumbar nerve root compression. This case report describes one mimicking spinal stenosis. A differential diagnosis of other intraspinal cysts is discussed. When symptomatic, surgical excision of these cysts should provide good relief with minimal morbidity.
