Only in static forms of idiopathic spasmodic torticollis should the cervical spine be X-rayed for differential diagnosis. There is no indication for cranial roentgenograms. CAT of the skull may occasionally help in distinguishing idiopathic from symptomatic-striatal forms. Repeat films of the skull and the cervical spine contribute nothing to diagnosis.
