The Graft Patency Between No-Touch Vein Harvesting Technique and Conventional Approach in Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgery (PATENCY) trial, a large multicenter study, compared the no-touch (NT) technique with conventional vein harvesting in coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. The study included 2655 patients and assessed graft patency at 3 months and 1 year using computed tomography (CT) angiography. The NT group showed a significantly lower occlusion rate at 3 months (2.8% vs. 4.8%) as well as at 1 year (3.7% vs. 6.5%). Recurrence of angina was also lower in the NT group at 1 year. The study provides robust evidence supporting the NT technique's efficacy in improving vein graft patency.
