Foreign body impaction in the esophagus: a review of ten years' experience in a teaching hospital.

Abstract
This report reviews 271 cases of impacted foreign bodies in the esophagus seen at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital between January 1973 and January 1983. In 270 patients, esophagoscopy was employed to relieve the obstructions. One patient had a prolonged impaction requiring a surgical procedure. The diagnosis in two patients was made at autopsy.

本报告回顾了1973年1月至1983年1月在拉各斯大学教学医院所见的271例食管异物嵌顿病例。在270例患者中，采用了食管镜检查来解除梗阻。1例患者有长期嵌顿，需要进行外科手术。2例患者的诊断是在尸检时做出的。
