An Efficient One-Pot Synthesis of Pyrido[2,3-]coumarins via Serial Catalysis and Its Application in Concise Formal Synthesis of Santiagonamine.

Versatile and high-yielding one-pot synthesis of polysubstituted pyrido[2,3-]coumarins from -Boc--coumarinyl propargylamine derivatives was achieved via serial catalysis using AgSbF. Using this approach, the concise formal synthesis of santiagonamine was successfully accomplished. This simple and versatile method could be used to increase the potential of the pyrido[2,3-]coumarin scaffold for diverse synthetic and biological applications.
