[Predicting weight loss in patients with massive obesity after jejunoileal shunting].

Postoperative decrease of the body mass was studied in 105 patients with massive obesity subjected to operation of jejunoileoshunting. Loss of the body mass was proportional to its initial value, inversely proportional to the length of the functioning portion of the ileum. In men the degree of postoperative loss of the body mass was more considerable than in women.
