Longitudinally extensive transverse myelitis (LETM) is a rare spinal cord disorder with variable etiologies and presentations. It can present solely or as an association with other neurological disorders.
It was a series of cases of LETM in a tertiary care hospital.
The initial three cases presented with bilateral lower extremity weakness and were diagnosed as transverse myelitis while, the fourth case, already diagnosed as LETM presented with seizure followed by loss of consciousness. All four cases had a good prognosis to date with continued physiotherapy.
The early diagnosis of the disease helps to guide the optimal management and decide the potential need for physiotherapy.
长节段横贯性脊髓炎（LETM）是一种罕见的脊髓疾病，病因和表现各异。它可单独出现，也可与其他神经系统疾病相关。
这是一家三级护理医院的一系列LETM病例。
最初的三例表现为双侧下肢无力，被诊断为横贯性脊髓炎，而第四例已被诊断为LETM，出现癫痫发作，随后失去意识。迄今为止，所有四例经持续物理治疗后预后良好。
该疾病的早期诊断有助于指导最佳治疗，并确定物理治疗的潜在需求。
