Antioxidant application soon after bleaching process increases the shear bond strength (SBS) of composite resin to enamel.
The aim of the study was to evaluate the antioxidant effects of selenium alone and in combination with alpha-tocopherol (αT) and green tea (GT) on SBS of composite resin to enamel following in-office bleaching with 38% hydrogen peroxide (HP).
Sixty extracted human single -rooted premolar teeth were cleaned and embedded in acrylic resin blocks at the level of cementoenamel junction(CEJ) followed by bleaching with 38% hydrogen peroxide (HP) and arbitrarily divided into seven groups (n=10) for antioxidant application: Group I (negative control): intact teeth, Group II (positive control): only bleaching, Group III: 10% selenium (Se), Group IV: 10% alpha tocopherol (αT), Group V: 10% αT +10% Se, Group VI: 10% Green tea (GT), Group VII: 10%GT+10% Se. In all groups, self-etch adhesive was applied and composite restoration was done, and specimens were stored in distilled water for 24h followed by SBS evaluation.
One-way analysis of variance and post hoc Tukey's tests were used ( < 0.05).
The highest SBS was found in negative control Group I (intact teeth) and least in positive control Group II (bleached teeth), whereas in experimental groups, Group VII (GT + Se) showed highest followed by Groups V (αT + Se), III (Se), and VI (GT) and least in Group IV (αT).
Combination of selenium with green tea and alpha tocopherol enhanced the SBS of composite resin following in-office bleaching.

选取60颗拔除的人单根前磨牙,清洁后在牙骨质牙釉质交界处(CEJ)水平嵌入丙烯酸树脂块,然后用38%过氧化氢(HP)漂白,并随机分为七组(n = 10)进行抗氧化剂应用:第一组(阴性对照组):完整牙齿;第二组(阳性对照组):仅漂白;第三组:10%硒(Se);第四组:10%α-生育酚(αT);第五组:10%αT + 10%Se;第六组:10%绿茶(GT);第七组:10%GT + 10%Se。所有组均应用自酸蚀粘结剂并进行复合树脂修复,标本在蒸馏水中保存24小时,随后进行SBS评估。
采用单因素方差分析和事后Tukey检验(P < 0.05)。
阴性对照组第一组(完整牙齿)的SBS最高,阳性对照组第二组(漂白牙齿)的SBS最低,而在实验组中,第七组(GT + Se)的SBS最高,其次是第五组(αT + Se)、第三组(Se)和第六组(GT),第四组(αT)的SBS最低。
在诊室漂白后,硒与绿茶和α-生育酚的组合增强了复合树脂的SBS。
