[Puerperal complications in HbSC disease--a rare hemoglobinopathy].

This is a report on a case of complications post partum seen in a patient with sickle cell disease (HbS-C-disease) from Ghana. The main signs and symptoms, clinical parameters, and therapeutic management are described. The pathogenesis of sickle cell disease and the agents causing haemolytic crises, are also described, with particular reference to pregnancy and parturition.
