Abstract

A study was conducted to learn more about school-age children's conceptions of the heart and its function (kotchabhakdi, 1984). This report presents the review of literature pertinent to the study. The review includes three areas: congenital heart disease in children, cognitive development and cognitive function of school-age children, and children's conceptions of body organs. Part II, namely, methodology and findings of the study will be reported in Monograph 15, the Winter 1985 issue of this Journal.
