[Ultrasonic characteristics of echinococcal cysts].

The results from an ultrasound examination of 55 patients with positive hydatid cysts were retrospectively discussed. The total number of the cysts was 79, because some of the patients had two and more cysts. Four types of images were described: simple cysts, cysts with daughter cyst, echogenic and calcified. The connection between the ultrasound image and individual characteristics of the cysts were looked for.
