BACKGROUND
Parent, 1935 is a small genus consisting of three species only from the Afrotropical region.
NEW INFORMATION
During a survey of the long-legged flies from Korea, the authors discovered a new species, Detailed morphological characters and photographs of the new species, as well as a checklist and key to species of this genus, are provided herein. The two species described from Oriental China, Lin & Yang, 2022 and Yang & Gaimari, 2004, are transferred to Parent, 1935 () by similarity in external morphological characters.

在对韩国长足虻进行调查期间，作者发现了一个新物种。本文提供了该新物种的详细形态特征和照片，以及该属物种的清单和检索表。根据外部形态特征的相似性，将来自中国东部的两个物种，即 Lin & Yang，2022 年和 Yang & Gaimari，2004 年描述的物种转移到帕伦特（Parent，1935）属。
