Brachymetatarsia. IV: A different surgical approach.

A review of the surgical alternatives available for the correction of brachymetatarsia is presented with an introduction of a different surgical approach. This involves the transplantation of a portion of the fifth metatarsal and head to the short fourth metatarsal. The results of three cases are presented with a discussion of the indications, technique, and complications.
