Abstract

Twenty-two patients with spondylolysis and minimal degrees of spondylolisthesis have been treated with repair of the defect by segmental wire fixation and bone grafting. Twenty-one patients are available for follow-up. Eighty percent of the patients obtained good to excellent results, and 90% obtained solid fusion of the pars defect. The technique would appear to have the greatest use in patients less than 30 years of age with minimal degrees of displacement.
