Carcinosarcoma of the stomach. A case report with light microscopic, immunohistochemical, and electron microscopic study.

Carcinosarcoma of the stomach is an uncommon lesion of uncertain histogenesis. Light microscopic, immunohistochemical, and electron microscopic examinations of the tumor in the present case favor the view that these carcinosarcomatous tumors may arise from mesenchymal (or sarcomatous) transformation of carcinoma cells.
