Abstract

Carbonation of recycled coarse aggregate (RCA) is an eco-friendly solution for the recycling of construction and demolition waste. This paper provides a comprehensive understanding of utilizing CO in RCA. The carbonation mechanism associated with CO treatment of RCA has been systematically summarized. The methods for CO treatment of RCA and the calculation of CO sequestration were discussed. Meanwhile, the efficiency of physical properties enhancement of carbonized RCA was analyzed. The microstructure, mechanical properties and durability improvement of recycled concrete containing carbonized RCA were reviewed. Additionally, the environmental benefits of carbonized RCA were provided through carbon footprint, carbon accounting and carbon intensity. Furthermore, the future perspectives of RCA with CO utilization were prospected.

再生粗骨料(RCA)的碳酸化是建筑和拆除废物回收利用的一种环保解决方案。本文全面阐述了在RCA中利用二氧化碳的情况。系统总结了与RCA二氧化碳处理相关的碳酸化机理。讨论了RCA二氧化碳处理方法及二氧化碳封存计算。同时,分析了碳化RCA增强物理性能的效率。综述了含碳化RCA再生混凝土的微观结构、力学性能和耐久性改善情况。此外,通过碳足迹、碳核算和碳强度阐述了碳化RCA的环境效益。此外,还展望了RCA利用二氧化碳的未来前景。
