The incorporation of ultrasonic examinations into the usual medical checkup in pregnancies, obliges the diagnostician to specifically look for malformation. The multistage-concept of Hansmann meets the requirements to achieve the highest possible diagnostic accuracy. Provided the multistage-concept functions as expected, it is possible to detect rare malformations at an early stage. The case of a woman, 19 weeks pregnant and ultrasonographically diagnosed as Osteogenesis imperfecta Typ II according to Silence, is presented.
