Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the composition of oxide films formed on SA106 Gr.B carbon steel in nitrite solutions at 35 °C for 1000 h. The product of the reduction of nitrite during the corrosion inhibition process was also examined. The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy results revealed that a thin FeO film was formed and ammonium ions were adsorbed on the outermost surface of the oxide film. The presence of ammonium ions was also demonstrated by ion chromatography. These results indicate that nitrites are reduced to ammonium ions, which in turn promotes the formation of the protective FeO film.

本研究的目的是调查SA106 Gr.B碳钢在35℃的亚硝酸盐溶液中1000小时形成的氧化膜的组成。还研究了缓蚀过程中亚硝酸盐还原的产物。X射线光电子能谱结果表明,形成了一层薄的FeO膜,铵离子吸附在氧化膜的最外表面。离子色谱也证实了铵离子的存在。这些结果表明,亚硝酸盐被还原为铵离子,进而促进了保护性FeO膜的形成。
