Abstract

Maldonado Capriles, 1981 and Castro-Huertas, Forero & Melo, 2022 (Hemiptera, Reduviidae, Emesinae, Saicini) are recorded from Brazil for the first time. Taxonomic notes on and its species are provided mainly based on the examination and photographs of the holotype and paratype of Maldonado Capriles, 1981. Previous doubts on some characteristics of the genus are clarified. A hypothesis suggesting that the holotype and paratype of may belong to different species is presented. An updated key to the New World genera of Saicini is provided.
