Abstract
Thoughtful and rational antimicrobial prophylaxis in surgical patients is an important and valued part of patient management, and is best defined as the prevention of postoperative morbidity due to infection. Firm indications for prophylaxis include procedures associated with a high incidence of postoperative infection, those associated with a low incidence of serious sepsis, and low risk procedures in compromised patients.

对外科手术患者进行周全且合理的抗菌预防是患者管理中一项重要且有价值的内容，其最佳定义为预防术后感染导致的发病情况。预防的明确指征包括与术后感染高发生率相关的手术、与严重脓毒症低发生率相关的手术，以及身体状况不佳患者的低风险手术。
