The relationships among parent perceptions of the adaptive behavior of students considered for EMR class placement, the self-ratings of the students, and ratings of students by their teachers were examined. The Adaptive Behavior Inventory for Children was used for adaptive behavior ratings, and the Behavior Rating Profile was applied for self-ratings and teacher ratings. Moderate association was found between adaptive behavior and self-ratings of peer relations. Significant but relatively low association was found between adaptive behavior and teacher ratings. There was a modest association between parent and in-school perceptions of student coping abilities.
