Abstract

Orbital Cavernous venous malformations (OCVMs) are well defined benign lesions. Due to their well encapsulated nature, they are easily dissectible from the surrounding orbital structures. After lymphoid tumours and idiopathic orbital inflammation, orbital Cavernous venous malformations are the third most common intraconal pathology [1-3]. These lesion have a well-defined contrast enhancement on CT and MRI [4]. A Middle aged female presented with history of protrusion of the left eye which was insidious onset and gradually progressive in nature. She had no history of visual disturbances or double vision. Imaging showed an intraconal lesion in the left eye which was inferior and medial to the optic nerve. Given the size and location of the tumour it was easily approachable via endoscopic endonasal transmaxillary transorbital approach [5]. We present a 2-dimensional video of endoscopic endonasal transmaxillary approach to intraorbital intraconal Cavernous venous malformation. Informed consent was taken from the patient. The patient has consented to publish any identifiable image or information pertaining to her. Histopathological examination revealed a cavernous hemangioma. Recovery was uneventful and proptosis resolved completely.
